Once
the client gives the go ahead what is the procedure for creating the
site?
We provide a flow diagram for the site showing how pages link so making
it easy for clients to supply the necessary text and images. We provide
a colour visual of the house style of the website to confirm the colours
and design that will be used. Once this is approved the main pages
will be coded and upload to your web space.

do I need to get my business on the Internet?
To get your business on the Internet you will need 3 basic ingredients:

address (domain name)
Website hosting (a place to put your website)

I need my own computer to have a website?
No. You will need to access a computer to use the Internet and look
at your website but only the visitors to your website need a computer.
How
long does it take to create a website?
This depends on how big your website is, how much information can
be provided before work commences and how tight your design brief
is.
A small website can be created in a week if all the content and images are provided. If these cannot be provided then it will take a little longer. On average most sites take 2 - 3 weeks to build, though we will confirm the exact length of creation in your quotation.

you offer domain registration and hosting?
Yes.
Do
you use Macromedia Flash?
Rarely. We ahte it. Flash sites
do not rank well with the major search engines. Some website designers
use Flash extensively but Flash websites are generally not well suited
to a serious business environment. Pages can take longer to load,
which means that a high proportion of visitors become impatient and
go elsewhere. As a guide, 8 seconds is the average limit that anyone
will wait to load a page.
In
what form should I supply text for the website?
In any format you choose. Even copied
and pasted into an email is fine.
In
what form can I supply images for the website?
Images can be supplied as one or more of the following - jpeg files
(.jpg), tiff files (tif), Macintosh eps files (.eps), Windows bitmap
files (.bmp), Adobe photoshop files (.psd). In addition hard copy
images can be supplied (scanning costs will apply) as traditional
photographs or transparencies.
I want to give you bits from advertising literature that my agency has produced. What software and formats can you handle?

needs to be done to my pages to rank them with Search Engines?
We need to have ftp access to your website so that we can upload or
update your pages. We register and optimise the pages with the major
search engines. Optimising means the creation of doorway pages, meta
tags and the correct HTML. This should really be done monthly. It
is a bit of a "black art" and requires experience and know-how.
How
long does it take for ranking to become effective?
The ranking process starts once the complete site is upload to its
web space. Results usually take 4-6 weeks but successful high ranking
can take several months to become effective. The more people that
visit your site, and the most sites that link to it, the better.
How
can I keep my website updated?
Invest in a Maintenance Contract.

Electronic commerce is the buying and selling of goods and services
over the Web. Companies can now have a Web presence that allows customers
